I had heard of the term RSS but did not know what its function was. According to Richardson, it's the next best thing to sliced bread. His reference to it being a "killer app" is because of the variety of ways it can be used. It looks to have a lot of potential. One section in particular that caught my eye was students using it to do research for a project. RSS would be a great time saver used in this way.

I'm excited to try using RSS for a project as well. I think I might create a webquest on the future of tablets and start an RSS feed for the project. This way I can use it as a project for the students and research for our 1:1 talk in our tech meetings.

Emily, I think RSS feeds can find very specific information, such as student research projects. I wonder if things like Google alerts can do the same thing or if RSS feeds would provide more relevant content.

Incorporating something like this into a student project is a great idea. Additionally, the idea of including Google alerts in tandem with an RSS reader will really give you some power.
