I only started using Twitter since it was assigned in class. My first week I was lost in information overload. My second week I managed to send out a few tweets and reply to others. My third week I decided to follow a celebrity. My fourth week I found a couple of useful tweets. I have a ways to go as far as following people and/or sites that will benefit me. I am not sure if I will continue to use this. According to Richardson Twitter is a powerful professional development and communications tool. I will try it for a few more weeks and see if I can make it work for me. Another tool I started using as a result of this grad program is Diigo, the social bookmarking service. Not only does it allow you to save links, you can annotate to keep them organized and share with others. I like the highlighting and note taking features. I use Diigo to organize my research when doing grad school work as well as links I use outside of school and work. I just recently started using the networking portion to find other educators that are using a 1:1 platform or moving towards it. The obvious advantage of online tools is being able to access them anywhere on any device. I am finding myself using more of them as I progress in my grad school program and my career. For me Diigo is a keeper.

Twitter really becomes powerful when you find you are following people who can assist you in your own personal learning plan. There is strength in numbers, and in this community of collaborators. Perhaps you should send out a tweet that asks for a resource or help, and you may be surprised at the number of replies you get.
Diigo is, as you have found, another good resource for helping you to organize and categorize resources that you can then share. Good work throughout.

I love diigo as well but it tends to keep me online longer than I should! It is a great tool - students can use it as well for the highlighting and sharing link features. What did you find out about 1:1? Anyone useful out there?
