Being in a “Bring Your Own Device” school allows my students plenty of access to technology at all times! I am interested in having students start creating their own Podcasts around the building and integrating them into a news/info page for our school. Currently my students all do different video editing projects but I think I will introduce podcasts and give them the option to create them as well. I also would like to start a video production/radio/announcement program – I have so much I want to do!
I personally will stay away from Podcasts and head more toward screencasts just because of the world that I work it. I teach many different classes on Moodle as well as Information Media. Many of these projects and assignments that we do need to be demonstrated to the students and I tend to repeat myself over and over again. I plan on incorporating screencasts to save myself and my students time on instruction, it should make everyone more productive with the time we have. If every student can go at their own pace and just click back to check out a step or instruction they missed a lot of issues can be taken care of without the teacher ever getting involved. It will take some time to set this up – but I believe it will be worth it in the end.
